With the global warming effect, petroleum fuel is in short supply, and the new energy industry is pushed to the forefront. In emerging industries, everyone is at the same starting line. China, which missed the golden age of traditional cars, does not want to miss new energy vehicles. Since edging out the United States to become the world's largest neV market in 2015, China has been the sales champion of neV for four consecutive years.

Although compared with traditional fuel vehicles, new energy vehicles are simpler in terms of technology, but this field is emerging and still in the initial stage of development. In terms of new energy vehicles, all countries in the world are at the same starting line. Compared with traditional cars, China has a greater possibility of overtaking on curves in the field of new energy vehicles, which is also one of the important reasons why China insists on developing the new energy vehicle industry.

Definition of new energy vehicles:

As early as November 2007, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the "new energy vehicle production access management rules" on the definition of new energy vehicles. The rules make clear a regulation: the New Energy Vehicles (New Energy Vehicles) refers to the use of unconventional vehicle fuel as power source (or use conventional vehicle fuel, using New vehicle power unit), integrated vehicle dynamics control and drive in terms of advanced technology, formed the technical principle, with a New technology, New structure of the car.

Classification of new energy vehicles:

The classification of new energy vehicles is very complex. This paper lists the mainstream models on the market and classifies them according to their range and operation mode. It can be roughly divided into pure electric vehicle (BEV), hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), extended range hybrid electric vehicle (REEV), fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) and so on.

Blade Electric Vehicles (BEV) is a kind of vehicle which uses a single battery as energy storage power source. It uses the battery as energy storage power source and provides Electric energy to the motor through the battery to drive the motor to run, so as to drive the car.

This kind of car is also being vigorously promoted in China. Currently, there are some problems such as expensive price, insufficient battery life, long charging time and inconvenient charging. But the industry has been working on solutions to these problems. Battery costs account for the majority of BEV vehicle costs. Currently, automakers and battery manufacturers are working to reduce costs, and electric vehicle prices are expected to match those of gas-powered vehicles by 2022.

Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) refers to a Vehicle whose drive system consists of two or more single drive systems that can operate at the same time. The driving power of the Vehicle is provided by a single drive system alone or by multiple drives together according to the actual driving state of the Vehicle. The classification of hybrids is more complex, and there are roughly three ways.

One is divided into plug-in hybrid and non-plug-in hybrid according to whether there is an external charging power source.

The other is divided into parallel hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), series hybrid electric vehicle (SHEV) and hybrid hybrid electric vehicle (PSHEV) according to the structural characteristics. A PHEV is powered by an engine and an electric motor, both of which have transmissions that can drive the car simultaneously or individually. Generally, the engine is given priority to, and the motor is supplemented; SHEV connects the engine with the motor. The engine itself does not drive the car, but generates electricity from the engine and supplies the motor to drive the car. PSHEV contains the characteristics of series and parallel. The parallel dual power drive can be realized by adding the generator on the basis of parallel connection, and the generator can also be driven by the engine to generate electricity.

The other type is divided into mini hybrid vehicles according to different mixing degrees. The representative models are THE HYBRID C3 of PSA and the hybrid Vitz of Toyota. Light hybrid electric vehicle light hybrid, representative model is Lacrosse eAssist; Midsize hybrid cars, represented by Honda Insight, Accord and Civic; Heavy-duty Hybrid vehicles, represented by Toyota's third-generation Prius Hybrid.
